"I hope you dance..."

Aaaaahhhh! I did it for the first time. I thought I was late for my 10 AM Education lecture so I ran to uni and then into the theatre but then it was empty.

Me: ……………………………..
Me: AAAAH!! Wait, 10 AM. It’s 10 AM, the class is at 10 on Friday. It should be here. OMFG did everyone move rooms and I wasn’t around to hear this. Why is it deserted?!!
Me: *digs through book to check timetable in case it’s a 2 hour tutorial instead of lecture*
Book: WEEK 8 – NO CLASSES (currently it is week 8)
Me: …………………………….

So I paid my rental bills and bought ‘The Thief Lord’ for next week’s English lecture/tutorial but I doubt I will find the time to read it. And dragged myself back home since media lecture is at 2.

Got my first media essay back. A C. Bleh. I’m kind of disappointed, although I should be happy getting a credit considering media is like my worse subject and like the only subject where I don’t do any readings and I never listen in lectures. Forgot to mention that I got a D for my first English lit essay. Which is really good. It kind of reassures me that my English critique and writing ability is on a good enough level that I can survive to be an English literature major. I was really worried about that before coming here. I was a bit nervous for this essay also because I applied all the standard literary critique techniques as usual but I wasn’t sure whether it would work considering this is a fantasy unit. And fantasy is just a bit different from say, Shakespeare. Gotta do better on my next media essay (due right after MANIFEST, yes I don’t think I’m gonna do well….)

When I got back from my 5 AM tutorial, everyone in Roberts was dressed all nice and stuff. Since today is the Roberts ball. I didn’t go because I don’t have enough friends in Roberts that I would care to go to the ball (and all my Roberts friends aren’t going anyway besides a few). Yeah, that and I have AMARANTH for next Thursday already, I don’t want to go to anymore balls. They aren’t exactly cheap. But yeah, before everyone left they took the Roberts Hall annual photo in the common room, so I quickly dressed up in like 10 minutes just to get that photo. It was kind of funny.

After that, ran back to my room and changed again to go to the OCF (Overseas Christian Fellowship) event. Went there with Amanda, Jia Chi, Sharon, Stan and Jonathan. Saw Izzzati, Ieja and co. who were going to Roberts Hall for a BBQ (yeah, I saw their group setting up during the photo shoot). The OCT thing was a musical drama sort of thing with free food and stuff. It was pretty amusing and I liked the dancing and music, and the story of the musical did have some good values represented there. I felt a bit iffy during the service but it wasn’t really a big deal. Yeah, most of the gang was there (Tsan, Mitze, Han Lin, Winston, Nicholas, V, Jean and etc). It was a pretty funny night. V’s sexuality is now in question, hahaha (his reputation is sky plummeting). I ran into Sarah Chhan there, which was kind of surprising. I have never met up with her in Melbourne actually. I was a bit surprised she messaged me all of a sudden asking whether I was at OCF.

Our group! Photo taken by Stan. From the left is Jean Marc, Mitze, umm.. person I dunno, Tsan, Nicholas, Han Lin, V, Jia Chi, Amanda and me!

Funny face~

And it seems we are going to St. Kilda on Sunday! Yay, with our happy lil’ group. Looking forward to it. This means that I MUST finish my Education assignment by tomorrow or I’ll have to pull all-nighters. As it is 50% and due on Monday. I’ll just go out in the morning at 9 AM to Brandon Park for this week’s share of food (gotta remember not to buy much considering I won’t be around on this Sunday, next Thursday, maybe Friday, Saturday and Sunday) then spend the rest of tomorrow at home. Should be fine, I got half of it done (without editing of course, I’ll need to leave Monday for editing).

Assignments and blood!

Happy Birthday to my Papa. :D :D

So lazy to do the assignment. Aww... man. The laziness is also because I'm not sure what to do. It's worth 50%. If I screw up I'm dead. But if I don't get at least half of it done by tomorrow there is no way I can go out on Saturday.

I set my alarm to 5 AM today but it failed. I like putted the alarm on another table, but at 5, when I woke up I got out of bed, turned it off and went back to bed. So I woke up at 15 minutes past 6 AM instead. Boo. I wanted more time. Seems like cutting down on sleep just doesn't work on me. Sleep is like one of my favourite times of the day (next to food). So yeah, class at 9 AM. I was all sleepy and bored there and I didn't even do my readings (hooray for me, I'm behind readings for EVERY subject!). After that me and Raine went to MUISS so I could heat up my lunch. On the way this guy stopped us for blood donations. He immediately rejected Raine because she's too thin to donate blood (I wanna be too thin to donate blood, lol). And yeah I put my name down but I dunno. I never had a blood test or drew any blood before. I would be scared out of my wits. Since I have this fear for blood, pain and needles. I'd need someone to go with me if I was too do that I think. But donating something for once sounds good. Since I never have before... I need to think about it. Later on we met up with Bernie, Nazri and Chris for more practice. Later on Drue came, and so did Vu and Terence. Apparently Damien was around but since none of us have his number he couldn't find us so he just wandered around lost.

12:30 is my usual English Lit class. First time I went to a tut having not finished the book. Don't even let me get started on next week's book. I don't even have it. Dammit. Dragged myself back home after class, uhh... tried to do more of my assignment. Failed. Dinner I went to the Mess Hall and sat with Rachel, Naim and Triston. Also saw Syahir and Nicholas in there. On my way back the before mentioned trio left me behind without a word as I went to greet Izzati and Nabila who were by the bus stop. T_T Bleh.

I'm wondering whether to go to that event one of the Christian organisations on campus is holding tomorrow. I remember Amanda and Tsan (Lisa but I've decided to call her Tsan from now on!) said they would go but hmmm. I dunno. I kind of wanted to avoid the Christian organisations here, ya know. No offence intended to anyone, but I haven't had a good experience with them.

If anyone does go to St. Kilda on Saturday I might not go actually. I need Drue to take me and Raine to Lombards (wherever that is) on Saturday I think to get a mask for AMARANTH (which is a masquarade ball). Eh, I hope wearing the prom dress I wore at ISB's year 11 prom will be fine for that. Don't feel like spending another $100 for a dress. Ugh, formal dresses are so useless.

Boring.

I dragged myself up at around 6:30 AM to continue reading The Princess Bride. I give up on it, I'm obviously not gonna finish it by tomorrow. And I have to start my Education assignment now. At 10 I like cooked lunch, and enough food for like 4 meals. So much work in the morning. @.@ At least I don't have to cook tomorrow...

After that, I quickly ate lunch then dragged myself to uni to meet up with Raine, Damien and Nazri. Met Natalie and Max today also. I got some faces for these names now. Chris looked more well then I imagined he would be, and he seemed cheery enough. Guess he lost his depression ('tis good). I was fussing and worrying over what to wear for MANIFEST, and I'll probably just not do anything special. Don't really have the time or money anymore. I only realised AMARANTH and MANIFEST is next week. Time sure flies by. It's already week 8. Holy crap.

Worked on my assignment a bit when I got back, I have like 350 words now. 1750 to go! In the afternoon, some lady phoned me and asked me "What university are you in?" so I'm like "Uhh... Monash, but.. sorry, who are you?" and it turns out she's the lady doing this usability study that I forgot I sent an email about to ask if I could take part. I get a $90 Chaddy voucher apparently. I wonder what I have to do. :P I just realised 10 minutes ago that I lost my invoice for my rent for August. Shit. Now how do I pay for it? Imma better go and ask for another one tomorrow. It should still be in my room somewhere but I can't find it. And lastly, meme. Since Liz tagged me.

Chaddy!

Well... my day didn't go as originally planned. Heh, so I woke up at like 7 AM and continued reading the Princess Bride. Didn't get anywhere near the end in time for the lecture, so I just went for it. Had the story spoiled in the lecture (oh well) and then I wanted to go home to finish today but... well yeah. I stayed behind in uni to help put up posters for next weeks GFN. That took a lot longer then expected, waited around in MUISS with Nicholas and stuff since meeting times were changed. Got to talk a bit, umm... seems MUISS elections were today also. Ran into Raine, Sharon, Stan and a few others there.

Anyway, Lisa said she wanted to go shopping at Chadstone. Mind you, I spent like half the time while on poster duty complaining how it's taking too long, and that I wanted to head back to do my work. And I ended up going to Chadstone anyway since I haven't been for a while and I wanted to go shopping. XD So yeah, we hopped into V's car. That is, me, Amanda, Lisa, V, Nicholas and Jean Marc (I hope I'm spelling your name right...). It was a nice little outing. Got to know Lisa, Nicholas and Jean a bit better. XD

We wandered around Chaddy for a bit, and spent like an hour in Jay Jays. I bought a cute t-shirt. Will be wearing it on next week's GFN (Lisa got one similar with a different pattern while Amanda got another shirt in another store which goes with the theme of the shirt also). Nicholas bought a lot of clothes too (moreso then everyone else I think). I randomly took pictures, like this interesting one with Calvin Klein jeans stuck together in a ball. O.O

From the left, Jean Marc, Amanda, me, Lisa and Nicholas (missing V who took the picture)

We eventually wandered into... Cotton On (I think that's what the shop is called)? And spent some time in there also. Some random pictures of the guys while we waited for Amanda and Lisa (I didn't try anything on since I have SO MUCH CLOTHING I really shouldn't buy more).

Brothers!

Apparently, this is their "natural look" (yeah, right).

So before we knew it, it was past 5 and our originally plan of heading to Koko Red before everything closes was down the drain. So instead, dinner! I was hungry. I was thinking of whether to head back to the Halls or eat out, but everyone was going to Bob's Kitchen and I heard so much about that place that I wanted to check it out. And eating nice, real, Chinese food I want! I've been eating my nasty cooking for weeks. T.T

One side and...

... the other side.

Umm... I generally shared my food with Amanda. I ordered spicy dry noodles with pork in it, while Amanda ordered fried pork dumplings. V also ordered steamed pork dumplings but he had to leave for a bit during dinner. The other three got different types of noodles.

Me and Amanda's noodles, it's pretty nice. We ate it with our dumplings.

And Lisa's noodles. Her and Jean ate the same thing. They have a huge ass meatball.

Anyway, gotta try to read as much of the Princess Bride. Tomorrow I have to start my 50% Education assignment for Monday or I'm dead meat. T.T Since on Saturday there's some interest to go to St. Kilda so half my weekend might be gone by that? (I could technically not go but... I wanna go to St. Kilda! XD XD)

Anime Night at GFN

So I woke up like at the usual time, 7 AM or so and continued reading the Princess Bride. Then I went for EIL lecture. It was boring as ever. Came back and stir fried a crap load of veggies to eat for lunch (with rice). Afternoon I did very little. Just more Princess Bride. At 4:40 PM I made out on my way to the GFN. I ran into Laura Chong along the way (haven't seen her since... 6 weeks ago, lol). So we had a little catching up there (in the cold). She was looking as awesome as usual.

Anyway, after that was Anime Night at the GFN hosted by MCAC. Okay, it wasn't really much of an anime night (everyone actually expected us to screen anime). We just played some opening songs, had some trivia and karaoke! I got my picture taken by these people who were gonna advertise GFN at Monash South Africa or something. Heh. So that was kind of sweet. And yeah, the night was pretty fun. We had a lot of people but I spent most of the night with Amanda, Lisa, Jia Chi and ran back and forth between talking to Raine, Izzati and co. The trivia... my group didn't win. Boo! Haha. And karaoke, we (meaning me, Raine, Amanda, Jia Chi, Serene and Sharon) sang the opening song of Sauinkoku Monogatari. That was pretty fun!

Me, Jia Chi, Amanda and Serene!

Took lots of photos and stuff. Nazri actually went and brought his Akatsuki gear and wore it around the night! Funniest thing is when Nazri told me he wore the costume to an exam, lol.

Photo of our MCAC members at the GFN tonight! (Missing Carlin, Stan, Jason and Serene)

Anyway, I'm sleepy so guess I should head to bed now. Tomorrow besides going to the lecture on the Princess Bride (LOL I've only read like 100 out of 400 pages dammit) I have to stay behind at uni for an hour and help hang up posters for next week's GFN event, Latin dancing and Speed dating. I signed up for the speed dating thing for the fun of it but I'm getting second thoughts now after having listened to their plans.

Izzati's Surprise Birthday Party.

Aaaah, what a tiring two days. Okay, now to type the rest of what happened on Saturday which I couldn't type for the small small non-existent chance that for some reason Izzati would read my blog.

Yeah, Saturday was Izzati's birthday. But we decided to throw her a party on Sunday as to surprise her (if we did a surprise party on her actual birthday I think she would of expected one). So Ieja and co. made up some weird plan to disappoint her on her actual birthday (sorry Izzati!), and get her to rush over to the Townhouse (their home) on Sunday while we were all waiting.

So Saturday aroun 5 PM-ish I walked over... or more liked dragged myself to their house (it's like a 35 minute walk with my heavy bag, since I was sleeping over). While at the house, I helped Aya in making the desserts (There was this yummy mango delight thing that everyone loved, and all other stuff which I don't remember what it's called now). I uhh... helped slice the bread crust off like two bags of bread (for this sardine roll thing), washed a lot of dishes, blew balloons, helped with jelly stuff and etc. Aya and Nabila had it bad since they had assignments and exams to study for, Nabila didn't sleep in the end while Aya got very little sleep (and I was snoring away in Aya's room in the meantime). I felt bad. I slept the earliest (like at 12 AM) and woke up the latest (like at 7 AM).

Morning, I got up. Uhh.. Nabila was still downstairs as I left her when I went to sleep. Aya went jogging (you're amazing to have the energy to go jogging in the cold...). So yeah, I spent a good amount of the morning washing and quickly defrosting 10 kg of chicken wings... T___T and I helped or yeah, grilled like half of em'. Besides that, since I'm pretty useless in the kitchen I went to help decorate and sweeped the garage (where we were having the food) and etc. Blew a lot of balloons (which is hard for me to begin with).
Decoration~ okay, I have a retarded pose, shut up! Haha.

There was some panic in the morning because we were expecting Ieja to come at like 8 AM or past that a bit (as she said) but she disappeared. Me and Nabila continously phoned her (she said she got like 20+ miscalls, hahahaha). Turns out Izzati stayed in her room and they both woke up like at 11 AM... and of course, Ieja had a hard time trying to get away from Izzati (without her noticing anything).

Worry #2 I had was that no one was showing up. Until thankfully uhh.. Gwanja (sorry if I can't spell it right), V, Amanda, Jia Chi and Mitze came! Then a lot of others came. Worry #3 that haunted me for the entire time we were waiting for Izzati to come was Han Lin and Winston. T.T Because Han Lin said he woke up at like 2 PM and was coming over soon, I was worrying over what would happen if they ran into Izzati halfway, or if they couldn't find the house and whether I could get out to find them and stuff. (Which I wouldn't of cause I couldn't risk running into Izzati)

But Izzati's surprise was excellent. I took a video of it. Heh. She ran the other way the second we opened the garage and yelled out. And yeah, the rest of the party went well. V, Amanda, Jia Chi, Han Lin and Winston were like in awe at the awesome-ness of Aya's house. Took them upstairs and stuff for a tour. I hope I will be able to find a house as nice as that one with Amanda, Jia Chi and Sharon! The lucky draw... I wish I could have entered! Hahaha. I needed those containers (one of the prizes). I pretty much didn't know everyone from the party outside the people I invited myself (a.k.a. the people already mentioned in this post) but yeah, unlike Nabila's party I was a bit happier to have people to talk to and hang with this time. Bunch of photos below!

Izzati's lovely birthday cake!

The array of food! I'm proud to be able to help with this. And watch as everyone compliments Aya's awesome cooking skills.

And we went a bit crazy with the group photos but... it's a party. It's all about the group photos. Hahaha. This is what I had on my camera although Nabila's camera also has a bunch of photos.

From the left, Jia Chi, Amanda, me, V, Mitze, Winston, Ieja, Han Lin and Aya.

Uhh... yeah. Around the same people with the addition of Zaffril, Izzati, Nabila and Steven.

Giant group photo #1! (Amanda was cut off... D: D:) And don't ask me what Zaid is doing...

More random group photo taking~

Giant group photo #2!

Everyone started leaving at around 4:30-ish I think. After that we ran around bringing the tables back in, I vacuumed the house, threw stuff away, Ieja washed all the dishes and etc. We finished at around 5:45 PM, and decided to take the bus back to the Halls (after saying bye to Aya). And it turns out we missed the bus which comes at 5:45 PM since we then happily waited like 30 minutes for the 6:30 bus (which was late and I was freezing cold).

Our after party! Watch as we pig out on more... snacks. Hahahaha.

Waiting for the damn bus... in the dark and the cold... T_T

Got back at 7:00 PM. I ate some of the leftovers from the party and remembered that I forgot to sign up for the Tulip Festival trip during mid sem break so I ran back downstairs to the Operations office to do that.

Anyway, now is shower time. Then I need to finish reading "The Princess Bride" for English Literature. Start my 50% Education assignment (hooray for not doing any work at all for the weekend!). And make this video for GFN tomorrow which MCAC is gonna take part in (I was a bit hurt my friends said they wouldn't show up the second I said this though... T____T.... booo.... I hope everyone listens to Raine tomorrow, or I might actually lose my temper for once).

The usual Saturday.

Woke up at around 7:30 AM (a bit later then usual for once, I actually got more then 6 hours of sleep @.@). At 9:15 AM took the usual free shuttle bus to Brandon Park to buy food. Bought a lot of veggies as usual. I'm kind of wondering whether to try out brussel sprouts since I don't like a lot of veggies (or I dunno how to cook them) and having more variety would be good. But I dunno how to cook em'. Or like, it's a small ball-like thing. How do they normally cut it for dishes?

I have a lot to do today actually but for a couple of reasons I won't say what yet just in case. Will be updating a lot more tomorrow night. Heh. Although I did spend much of the afternoon just sleeping away.
